Review of Impractical Magic : Better than Hex by Vivienne Savage

Disclaimer: I was given a copy of this book directly by the author, this review is however, as always, without bias or preference and is completely honest. If you’d like to know more about how I do reviews please shoot me an email: tobiasgray35@gmail.com

This book was really polished with an interesting and involving storyline. There was just enough steamy scenes to keep you on the edge of your seat without feeling like you were reading something that would have your mother judge you. This was genuinely an enjoyable read and now I have to go back and read the first one! Haha! A review for that one will be forthcoming also. I’m sure there will be more in the series to keep us guessing as to what’s coming next!

So overall, this book has earned it’s 4/5 stars from me and I will be looking forward to more content from Vivienne in the future.

NOTE: This review will also be posted to Goodreads and Amazon as soon as my account clears the review requirements!

Once Upon A Book 2017

If you are in the Frankenmuth area you should come down to the Bavarian Inn Lodge and check out the Once Upon A Book fair and author signing! Last night we kicked it off with the Caught In The Classics ball with the dinner catered by Zehnder’s restaurant.

While I am only visiting as a guest of Hope Daniels and Alicia Dawn I will be definitely attending as an author next year!

Come check it out! There is a lot of amazing authors here!

Et cetera

I have opened the Dark Fiction Library here, I used to have a very similar project lined up on a different webhost but after many moons of basically -0- activity I have decided to relocate it to here and start fresh. With that comes a whole new theme for the site! The Dark Fiction Library is simply a place for readers and writers to share their mutual love of dark fiction content. Things that make you look over your shoulder, check under your bed, and sleep with the lights on.

If you are or someone you know is interested in joining the Dark Fiction Library just click on the link at the top and get to posting.

If you’re not scared that is.

Review: RISE OF THE SEA WITCH

Rise of the Sea Witch by Stacey Rourke

Author’s Synopsis:

Details of the sea witch’s banishment have been exaggerated. The body count that preempted it was not. Once an illustrious princess, her hands and tentacles were stained with the blood of thousands. No one could comprehend how the hooks of madness dragged her down from her life of privilege.

Born Princess Vanessa of Atlantica, the ambitious young royal was one of two children born to the great King Poseidon. She and her brother, Triton, were groomed from birth to rule. Yet only one would ascend that coveted throne. While carefree Triton flits through his training with a cavalier demeanor and beguiling charm, Vanessa’s hunger for her father’s acceptance drives her to push herself to the limits of magic, and combat to become a leader worthy of her people.

When war against the humans ravages their once regal kingdom, political sides are chosen. Factions from the seven seas challenge the existing leadership, pitting Vanessa against her brother in a vicious battle for the crown. Traitors are exposed, dark family secrets revealed, and a once strong sibling bond is strained to its breaking point.

Only when the ink black waters from the ultimate betrayal rescind, will the truth be known of how the villainous sea witch rose with one name on her vengeful lips–Triton.

This was a fun book to read. Easily one that I would be willing to share with my nieces and nephews. It is full of adventure and just enough romance to keep you interest. This clearly demonstrates Rourke’s writing ability and her appeal to audiences of all ages. In exploring one of the greatest fairy tales of all time we see a whole new dimension and meet a whole new colorful cast of characters. This book will be one to grace my shelves for years to come.
